We’ve grown from a one room office with 6 roofing professionals to our current office housing four distinct divisions and over 30 field personnel ready to tackle any size roofing installation or repair.

Douglas Plotke Jr. – President & Co-Owner

Roof Services was formed in 1985 by Douglas Plotke, Jr. and his brother John. However, Douglas wasn’t new to the roofing industry; he had been running his own business since 1972, operating as a residential shingler on new housing on Long Island. He further expanded his business in the mid-70’s to include commercial roofing.
In the early 90’s, Roof Services expanded further to include roof consulting and design. To maintain the integrity and quality of service, Douglas created four distinct service divisions, with their own personnel, that specialize and excel in each division; Residential Installation, Commercial Installation, Repair & Maintenance, and Roof Consulting.
Douglas’s experience working on varied buildings and roofing systems has been instrumental in the continued growth and success of Roof Services while providing the highest quality service and support for all his customers.
Douglas has, and continues to expand on his professional knowledge with courses from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Roof Consultants Institute (RCI), Roofing Industry Educational Institute (RIEI), Better Understanding of Roofing Systems Institute (BURSI) and the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA).
He’s also a member of numerous trade organizations: USGBC, RCI, NRCA, the Northeast Roofing Contractors Association (NERCA), and a founding member of the New York State Roofing Contractor’s Association (NYSRCA).

John came on board as co-owner of Roof Services in 1985. His expertise and extensive knowledge of roofing systems and materials has been integral to the success of the company and the satisfaction of our customers.

In addition to his degree from Boston University, John has taken courses at Roof Consultants Institute (RCI), Roofing Industry Educational Institute (RIEI), Better Understanding of Roofing Systems Institute (BURSI) and the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). He’s also a member of many roofing industry organizations including RCI, NRCA, Northeast Roofing Contractors Association (NERCA), and the New York State Roofing Contractor’s Association (NYSRCA).
Ralph Plotke – Vice President

Ralph’s first assignment with Roof Services was the creation of the Residential Division. Under his stewardship, the division grew each year exceeding both the company’s, and customer’s expectations, from Montauk through the five boroughs. In 1998, Ralph took on the position of project manager for the Commercial division, conducting project inspection & design through project management.
Ralph has continued the philosophy of providing superior customer satisfaction, cost effective solutions and high quality workmanship.
His education includes a BS in Business Management from Bridgewater State College in 1985 and continued training at the NRCA, RIEI, Carlisle Syntec, EcoStar and Duro-Deck. Ralph is affiliated with the NRCA, NERCA, NYSRCA and RCI
Dyami Plotke – Repair & Maintenance Divisio n Manager

Dyami has literally grown up in the roofing business. Beginning in high school, he gained his knowledge thru hands-on experience in installation and repair of every roof system installed and serviced by Roof Services.
Upon graduating from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 2000, he became Roof Service’s Production Coordinator, managing the logistics of every phase of job production, from material pricing through warranty issuance.
It was Dyami’s foresight and commitment to Roof Service’ high standards and quality of work that prompted him to push for a dedicated team of roof repair specialists that exclusively perform repairs and maintenance—fast and professionally. His experience working with roofing manufacturers places Dyami in the unique position to quickly assist customers with manufacturers warranty claims and repairs.
Dyami was instrumental in the creation of Roof Service’s Repair & Maintenance Division, which has proven to be their fastest growing division as more customers are made aware of the advantages of preventive maintenance to extend the life of their roofing systems while minimizing lifecycle costs.
Dyami’s continued education includes professional training at Design, Consulting & Forensics LLC, NRCA, NYSRCA, Carlisle-Syntec, Hunter Panels, Metal Building Components LP, and the Center for the Advancement of Roofing Excellence.
Thomas Melillo – Senior Residential Estimator

Tom’s background is firmly entrenched in the construction industry having worked as a field installation supervisor and residential construction estimator for Building Materials Research Incorporated and Long Island Siding and Roofing prior to joining Roof Services in 1992.
His experience estimating and producing thousands of projects has made him a seasoned professional in all aspects of residential roofing, siding and window work. Tom’s honesty, integrity and industry knowledge is invaluable to a homeowner trying to decide on the scope and design of their individual project, as he strives to achieve Roof Service’s philosophy of quality customer service and installation.
Tom’s continuing education includes training from the NRCA, GAF Certainteed, ATLAS Metal Roofing Systems, and the Center for the Advancement of Roofing Excellence.

His background in the customer service industry coupled with his understanding of Roof Service’s philosophy for quality installation and service has made him an integral part of the company. His combined experience is ideal for ensuring every customer is treated to excellent service at a fair price.
John’s education includes professional training from the Worchester Polytechnic Institute, GAF Certainteed, ATLAS Metal Roofing Systems, courses at the State University of New York at Albany, as well as the Center for the Advancement of Roofing Excellence.
David Hall – Production Manager

David Hall is Roof Services’ Production Manager. David grew up in the roofing business. He began working as a roofer while in his early teens. With over 25 years of field experience, David possesses comprehensive first hand knowledge of every roof system serviced by Roof Services.
In 1985 David began working for Roof Services part time. When he graduated in 1986, David immediately began roofing full time. In 1997 David became Roof Services’ Production Foreman, a position he excelled in. In 2005 David became Roof Services’ Production Manager, overseeing all of Roof Services’ field activities and over 30 field personnel. In his roles as Production Foreman and Production Manager David has ensured that the roofs installed fulfill Roof Service’s commitment to high quality, cost effective installations.
David has supplemented his decades of first hand knowledge with professional training from the Center for the Advancement of Roofing Excellence (CARE), Carlisle-Syntec and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Kevin Jones – Office Manager

Kevin Jones is Roof Services’ Office Manager. After graduating from Suffolk Community College in 1978, Kevin began working as an office and bookkeeping administrator, having had responsibility for all aspects of office management.
In 1997 Kevin joined Roof Services, where he quickly set to work modernizing the accounting department and computer system. Today, thanks to Kevin’s efforts the Roof Services office runs much more efficiently in all aspects of record keeping, communications, inventory control, purchasing and sales. Because of Kevin’s work, Roof Services’ administration is able to fully support the quality installations of our field personnel. As Office Manager, Kevin’s responsibilities include accounting, insurance, personnel, vehicle management as well as keeping up to date with all OSHA, Federal and State guidelines pertaining to the roofing industry and its employees.
Kevin continues to supplement his education by regularly attending training seminars given by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Microsoft, various insurance groups, and well as local regulatory agencies. Kevin is a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
Stephanie Saintil – Production Coordinator

Stephanie Saintil is Roof Services’ Production Coordinator. Before coming to Roof Services Stephanie began her career as a sales associate for Dana Funding in the real estate industry.
In 2005 Stephanie graduated from the State University of New York University of Stony Brook. Following her graduation, Stephanie joined Roof Services. As Production Coordinator, Stephanie manages the logistics of every phase of job production from material pricing and delivery through job close-out documentation and warranty issuance.
Stephanie has supplemented her formal education with professional training from Johns Manville, Carlisle-Syntec and the Center for the Advancement of Roofing Excellence (CARE).
Nancy Aug – Secretary

Nancy Aug is Roof Service’s Secretary. On graduating from high school Nancy began working in the business administration field. In 1995 Nancy joined Roof Services.
As Secretary, Nancy is involved in all four (4) of Roof Services’ divisions with a variety of responsibilities. Through her direct contact with clients and prospective clients on a daily basis Nancy communicates Roof Services’ commitment to providing its customers with quality service.
